Kalan is guided by the motto: Healthy People – Healthy Country – Healthy Culture. Our objectives are:

To provide a professional service to Traditional Owners in the Coen general sub-region in caring for country in accordance with our culture, laws and customs and best practice.
To establish business opportunities for the company and provide support to Traditional Owners in pursuing and establishing private enterprise, and to create job opportunities that enable members and surrounding Traditional Owners to become part of the real economy and reverse passive welfare dependency and support positive social change.
To enhance, promote and develop our business, by empowering members to be independent so that our enterprise is sustainable.
To work professionally with other organisations and government agencies to reach targeted goals and achieve positive outcomes for the corporation in Land and Sea Management and business enterprises.
To develop and implement community development initiatives within the Coen community.
